TheGamePort Shield (Insurance program)
TheGamePort Shield protects you for games you send and recieve through TheGamePort. You have sixty (30) days from the date a game is committed to be sent to you to file a claim. TheGamePort Shield specifically covers the following claims:
- Lost discs- a sent disc does not arrive within 30 days of being committed by the sender;
- Broken, damaged, or unplayable discs- a disc will not play or is physically broken;
- Wrong discs- a received disc is not the one that was requested.
All claims should be filed via the TheGamePort website and you will be required to send broken, illegal or wrong discs to TheGamePort. For approved claims, TheGamePort will reimburse (by crediting GamePoints to your account) the recipient for the GamePoints spent in connection with that disc. Senders will generally be allowed to retain the GamePoints earned for approved claims related to a lost or broken disc.
The following limits are placed on members with regard to the number and value of TheGamePort claims that can be filed in a given month or over a member’s lifetime:
- Monthly - 2 total lost claims filed by you or filed against you, or illegal disc claims filed against you.
- Lifetime - 4 total lost claims filed by you or filed against you, or illegal disc claims filed against you
TheGamePort reserves the right to reject any claims filed by a member or against a member. In addition, TheGamePort routinely monitors all claims and reserves the right at any time to reject any claims, and suspend or terminate your account.
